Weakness. Not giving up!

Why is it that we as humans are so darn weak? (Mark 14:38) Over and over again we commit the same mistake or sin. We tell ourselves we aren’t going to let it happen and then BAM- it happens again.  We live in such a society that us trying our best, is not good enough. We have to be perfect. Flawless. And without mistake. Or else everyone around you will think less of you and or judge you. We are so focused on that perfection, we forget how far we’ve come what we’ve already accomplished. REMEMBER, we’re our worst critic! Accentuate the positive. Don’t dwell on the negative. If you fail, or make a mistake, pick yourself up and move forward. Don’t get stuck in the past. Each day we have on earth is a gift. Cherish that!  I’m so grateful for a Savior, for Jesus Christ. For His willingness and the decision that He made to atone for my sins. Elder Holland had a talk that mentioned us being in debt to Him. We indeed are in debt to our Savior Jesus Christ. He has alread...

God’s amazing plan

Most of my posts start off with me thinking. 🤔 Isn’t that how it all happens? My mind gets going and I have little sweet and tender mercies that come. I realize how full my heart is. It is full of the wonderful love of my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. It is full of the sweet blessings that come to me and those hugs that I feel from God. It is full of the gratitude I have for the plan that God has for me and my life. And for those mini miracles that happen on a daily basis. Those reminders of God’s abounding love. I get to a point where I just have to share!  I have been thinking lately about just how much Heavenly Father is AWARE of you and I. He knows what is going on in our lives- down to the very detail. He knows what we are stressed out about, what we are struggling with, what gets on our nerves, what makes us laugh, and most especially, He knows the desires of our hearts. I am so grateful that God knows ME. He knows what I want in life and He knows how I ...

God’s Love ♥️

Gods love The experiences that I have had in my life thus far have made me who I am. Sometimes I go off the path and make choices I know I shouldn’t make. I come to a realization that what I’m doing is not what I should be doing. I repent and get back on the path. A pathway that is filled with the love from our Heavenly Father. He always welcomes me back with open arms and a smile on His face, even though sometimes I don’t feel like He should. He does anyway and I am once again back in His arms of a never ending love.  This life is full of surprises, twists and turns, round abouts, and challenges. What we thought we wanted, we soon realize is not what we wanted at all. God knows that. He knows what we want, He knows the desires of our hearts, and He knows how to help you and I to get there. All we have to do is ask.  I am humbled and feel the love that God has for me, as I am inspired to share my thoughts and feelings about the LOVE that God has for each of us. It...

Being single

To all my singles friends: know that #1 God loves you and #2 He is aware of you. As long as you know those 2 things then being single will be alright. ♥️   It’s hard when everyone around you is married, or they’re married with children, or just got engaged, or they’re in a relationship. You may think what is wrong with me? Why am I not dating? Or whatever the case is. You ask yourself all the questions leading back to why? Did God forget about me? Does He even care?  Well, my dear friends. I can testify that He does. He has an amazing plan for YOU. And you being single right now is part of that plan. Whether you think so or not. He knows your hopes, your dreams, and what YOU want out of life. He hears your prayers and He wants you to be happy, because in this life we are meant to have JOY! It doesn’t say we can have joy occasionally, or when the time is right, but we are meant to have it.  Ask yourself some of these questions: what are you doing to develop yo...

Insecurities

Hi my name is Lyssa. I'm 24, 5'9 ish, I'm curvy, definitely by no means "skinny", I have broad shoulders, sausage fingers that I got from my dad, and sometimes I have really low self confidence and self esteem. But you know what? That's me! I've grown to love my curves and be happy in my own skin. I've grown to love my broad shoulders. Not only do they help me to be strong but I wouldn't be complete without them. And my sausage fingers? Yes please! Those hands and fingers of mine have been through some hard times, and have seen so much.   The times I've been down in the dumps with confidence so low, I've been able to rise up and become more confident in me! In myself. In this beautiful amazing body that my Heavenly Father has given me. And guess what? Through the atonement of Jesus Christ I've been able to catch a glimpse of myself the way Heavenly Father sees me, and guys, that is something that I wish all of us could have and t...

A string of fortunate events :)

As I sit and think of the day's events my day replays in my head. I think of the people I've met, the opportunities I've had for service, and the things I was able to accomplish. There were the ups and the downs, good things and the bad things, things that didn't go as "planned", but I am filled with joy and gratitude. No my life isn't perfect. It's definitely not turned out the way I have wanted it to. But I'm so glad!! I am glad that Heavenly Father knows ME and he knows my heart. He knows what will make me the most happy and what will bring me the most joy. He knows the past present and future! He knows what is going to happen today and tomorrow. He has a perfect plan for ME! I am definitely not perfect at trusting Him, nor will I ever be, but that's ok! It's the here a little there a little, precept upon precept principle that is going to get me where I need to go. Because of His Son Jesus Christ, I am able to be forgiven of my sins ...

Ch ch ch changes

Some things are just bound to come to an end. You've put in your time, developed your skills and mastered them, worked on your confidence, grown in all the ways possible, and the time comes for a change. It's bittersweet that I've decided to leave Deseret Book. "There's no comfort in growth and there's no growth in comfort". Words to live by! I've definitely been comfortable in the LDS retail environment. I've had 5+ years of experience! Haha but the Lord knew I needed to grow more in ways that I've never even thought of. The experiences and the dear friends that I've had over the last 2.5 years will be ones that I'll treasure forever! You are all amazing! And I'm so thankful for YOU ALL. You've been my family, my cheer team, and my trusted friends. ♥️ It's not goodbye, just see you later! Change is good! It helps us grow into the people that Heavenly Father wants us to become. And learn the things we need to learn! "Th...
