I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it.

Warning: long post ahead!  I was debating on posting this, but I couldn’t get it out of my head, so here it is. By definition, GRIEF is intense sorrow. Sadness rips through you. You cry and cry and cry. To give your heart and soul to something that you wanted to badly, only to find out that it wouldn’t happen. This is a special kind of hard. Then reality sets in: I did not get hired as a seminary teacher. My posts have always been vulnerable and real. They’ve been happy and uplifting, raw with my emotions, and of my testimony. To say that I’m devastated, is just an understatement. I’m crushed. I’m shocked. I’m sad. I’m hurt. And just as I think I’m done crying, it starts all over again. This was my dream. What I wanted to do. It’s taken so long to figure out what I’ve wanted to do and now that it’s gone, I honestly don’t know what to do. The crazy thing about grief and disappointment is, that no matter how it comes, it changes you. You become different. Trials are mean...

Easter Morn! 🌷☀️

Image
There are so many things are on my mind as I reflect on this Easter morning! The words to “This is the Christ” written by Pres. James E. Faust really sum up my thoughts about today. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so GRATEFUL that He suffered, bled, and died for ME. I know that we can be forgiven through His atonement and that we can live again, because of Him! "This is the Christ" They heard His voice, a voice so mild; It pierced them through and made their souls to quake; They saw Him come, a man in white, The Savior who had suffered for their sake. They felt the wounds in hands and side, And each could testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with love divine. I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane; I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With saints o...

You are His child!

This weekend... General Conference is FINALLY here!! Looking forward to this weekend is what has been keeping me going during quarantine. I am so excited to listen to our prophet’s voice and hear the other apostles speak! I am looking forward to receiving some personal revelation for myself and finding out what God wants me to know. I know He can do that for you my friends, you just need to ask! ASKING is where it all started.  When Joseph Smith asked what church he should join and what he should do, he read James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” So he did just that. He asked. As I’ve been re-reading some of the accounts of Joseph Smith and the Restoration, I am amazed time and time again with the LOVE that God has for each of His children ❤️ The same Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that Joseph saw in the sacred grove, are the SAME today. I know God hears our prayers, He i...

MISTAKES

I love home decor! Anything from placemats to pictures on the wall- it’s all my favorite. A couple years ago for Christmas, my mom sewed a couple decorative placemats for me. They were reversible and I would have one for every occasion and Holliday. Since she sewed a couple, she gave me enough stuff to finish them on my own. I’ve had more time, being quarantined, and I decided to finish them!  As I was trying to remember how each one needed to be laid out so I could put it together and sew it, I did everything right, until I sewed up the hole. 🤦🏻‍♀️ When I told my mom that I thought I did it all by myself, I found that what I did was wrong. My mom was so understanding about it. She said I had 2 options: 1- I could make the straight line stitch the whole way around the placemat or 2- I could unpick the stitching... she said that it wouldn’t take very long and in the end, I’d probably be happier with it. And then the thought came to me... Unpicking the stitch (my mista...

Scripture Power!

Image
Hi friends! Less of a social life, has helped me really think more about life. I think about my seminary students & how they’re doing- my family, my friends, & all that is going on around me. I miss them!  😔  I miss the old “routine”, BUT, out with old & in with the new!  As I was doing some personal study this morning, the words on the pages came to life. The beautiful thing about the scriptures, is that every time I read, I get something new and different out of the verses than I ever have before. Principles and doctrines pop out of the pages, and I am able to think how I can apply those to my own life. I was not the best scripture studier in high school.  😅  I memorized a ton of scriptures, but I struggled to read every day. I’d see my little brother and sister read their scriptures before bed and their example made me want to be better. I’m still a work in progress, but aren’t we all? Whether it’s scripture study, praying, fasting, etc...

Peace be still 💗😔😊

“JOY is ALWAYS within the reach of everyone who will Hear Him and obey His laws.” President Russell M. Nelson  So many friends of mine are looking for peace at this time of panic. They are ridden with anxiety, doubt, worries, uncertainty, and some fear. It’s ok, to feel these emotions. We all have and all will! But there is no reason to fear! Our dear Heavenly Father is in charge and He has provided us with opportunities to grow! Opportunities to minister more to those who need comfort and love. To focus on what matters most. To step back and BE STILL.  Just as President Russell M. Nelson said, as long as we are doing what God asks and keeping His commandments and laws, we all can have that JOY! That pure joy that comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ  💗  Does that mean that our lives will be easy? Of course not! It’s foolish to think so. Trials will come and when they do, they’ll help us grow into the people that GODS WANTS us to become. They suck a...

The power of prayer 🙏🏻

Image
Hi friends! 🥰 With social media becoming crowded with a lot of not so great things now a days, my goal is and has always been to make it a place where I can uplift others and share my testimony, so I am going to continue to do that! ♥️☀️ New post: There have been numerous times in my life where I have uttered some of THE most sincere prayers ever to my Heavenly Father. They’ve been in times of my life where I could not do it anymore. Life was HARD- my friends, family, and myself were struggling, and I needed His help more than ever before. I called upon God, with all the faith I could muster, to ask for His help. To let Him take over. To fill my heart and mind with that comfort I so desperately needed. I can’t describe the miracles that have taken place, the feelings of peace, love, and comfort I have received, in doing that. ♥️ I KNOW that Heavenly Father is aware of His children. Especially in times of great need, sorrow, loneliness, or in times where we feel we cannot go on. He...
