The key to everything is to keep an eternal perspective!

Well friends! I made it through this week! I woke up with the flu Sunday, which made it so that I couldn’t speak in church. Unlike most people, I love speaking in church, and was very disappointed when I found out that wasn’t going to happen. I prayed and prayed that I would feel better.  Monday, I was going to start teaching seminary and I needed all my strength. Monday comes and I still don’t feel amazing, but luckily it was just a little ish bug, and I was able to go to seminary. Throughout the week, I felt so sick. I had so much on my mind- stress (the main cause of most of my sickness this week), where I am going in life, feeling sick and tired about feeling sick, and honestly feeling a little frustrated with my life. Why weren’t things happening that I wanted to happen when I wanted them to happen?  I was going over this last week what’s been happening in my life: teaching seminary, pushing through those trials in life, and what I’ve learned this week about my S...

The plan that God has for you is better: ☀️☺️♥️πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜

The plan that God has for you is better: ☀️☺️♥️πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜ Well friends! I can now make this official. I just got called to be the new relief society president in my singles ward! I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and am excited to see what God wants me to learn through this. This wasn’t the plan I had for where I was going and what I was going to be when I was 26, almost 27. I had it all mapped out and then it changed- And it continues to change, but I am so GRATEFUL for my loving Heavenly Father who cares so much for me (and for you) to give us different opportunities to serve and to become the person He wants us to become. He has so much trust in us and we are HIS hands! It’s humbling and I have lots of emotions, but I am so excited! President Thomas S. Monson said “the future is as bright as your faith” and boy isn’t that the truth! The future really is bright. With Heavenly Father leading the way, and as long as we are choosing Him and His path and doing what we’re supp...

I am not good enough

Image
I am not good enough Words that hold a deep and hurtful meaning to most every single person on this earth. Words that we have all let sink into our hearts and actually let have power over us at one point or another in our lives. I’m not good enough. I’m not pretty enough. I’m not skinny enough. I’m not... this I’m not... that or the other. That’s why I’m single or that’s why things haven’t worked the way I wanted them to or whatever. We give these words permission to seep into our souls, to trade our self confidence for, and to actually stop us from reaching our potential. The potential that God sees in us. We think of everything we don’t have and everything we aren’t and base our worth off of those things we lack.  WHY? Why do we do this? Why do we compare ourselves? Why do we always wish we were something different? Why do we spend so much time comparing ourselves on social media? Or compare our weaknesses to others strengths? NEWSFLASH: There are always going to...

Remember who you are!

Remember who you are  ☺️♥️ I had a pretty neat conversation with a sweet co worker of mine the other day. She was giving a relief society lesson on knowing that you are a child of god and she wanted to talk to me about it and get my opinion. We bounced some ideas around and both testified of just that. That YOU and I are children of God. Here, both of us were, crying outside the parking lot of Olive Garden in 90 something degree weather- bearing our souls.  πŸ˜… We also talked about how we are so blessed to have met each other and how much our Heavenly Father knew we needed each other in our lives. He often does that, so that we can help lift each other up. Because isn’t that the point of this life? Helping each other? Sometimes we forget WHO WE ARE and who’s child we are. We are God’s children. Do you ever just stop and think of how amazing that is? He LOVES us so much. Do you believe that? We all were sent here to earth with our own packages and trails. God gave us ta...

Blessings brighten when you count them πŸ˜‡

I was serving at Olive Garden last night and what started out slow became more and more of a busy night. I had just gotten double sat. That means you get two tables at once..  πŸ˜’ it was kind of hectic for a few minutes, but both tables were so patient and kind. My one table was a group of 3 sisters and their mom. They were celebrating a birthday.  Dinner went as usual and I checked up on them every little bit. They had just finished their birthday dessert and I had just finished up my other tables and was about ready to go home for the night. I stopped and talked a bit more with them and we got on the topic of the gospel. Now I LOVE this gospel and I love being able to share it and talking about it with others brings me joy!  The neatest thing happened, as I was telling them about my life and what I was doing, the spirit was so strong and testified to me that I was in the right place in life doing the right things. I’ve been trying extra super hard to have the s...

Life is hard

Life is hard A phrase that I’ve heard so many times. Oh you’re having a rough time? Well life is hard. Oh you thought this life was going to be a breeze? Well life is hard. That is what we are told. Life is HARD. While that is true, life is also WORTH IT. Satan’s plan and idea of how life would be like if we followed him was that life would be easy, but it wouldn’t be worth it. Our Savior’s? The opposite. Life would be hard, but it would be worth it. Every trial, every hardship, everything that didn’t work out the way we thought would work out our way, would eventually come together for our gain and for our good. Family get togethers around the holidays are always fun. They are a time where you and your family, the nieces and nephews get together with your brother and sister in laws. You eat, talk, play with the kids, and have a good time. They are also a time when I am reminded of my “single” status. Just me, by my lonesome, a party of one.  πŸ™„ It comes and goes in wave...

It’s YOUR life. 😁

It’s YOUR life: 😁 As of late I have been thinking about my life. I’m loving it! I get to teach seminary in Garland in the fall and open that new chapter in my book. Living with my parents and my brother has been wonderful. I’ve often thought of how hard it is to grow up, because those around you grow up to. For me, it’s been hard. My siblings and I are going different directions, some married, some with kids, but I am really grateful for the time I have to be at home again. I get to strengthen my relationship my parents, my brother, etc. because I have the chance to do it. There is a reason I am home. I was a bit melancholy yesterday and just told my parents and my brother Josh how grateful I am that we are in the situation we are in, so that we have each other! Don’t forget to thank those around you in your life. I’m sure they’ve made a huge difference in yours. Remember friends, It’s YOUR life, not your neighbors, your friends, your co workers, your parents, your grandma’s,...
