Remember who you are!

Remember who you are  ☺️♥️ I had a pretty neat conversation with a sweet co worker of mine the other day. She was giving a relief society lesson on knowing that you are a child of god and she wanted to talk to me about it and get my opinion. We bounced some ideas around and both testified of just that. That YOU and I are children of God. Here, both of us were, crying outside the parking lot of Olive Garden in 90 something degree weather- bearing our souls.  πŸ˜… We also talked about how we are so blessed to have met each other and how much our Heavenly Father knew we needed each other in our lives. He often does that, so that we can help lift each other up. Because isn’t that the point of this life? Helping each other? Sometimes we forget WHO WE ARE and who’s child we are. We are God’s children. Do you ever just stop and think of how amazing that is? He LOVES us so much. Do you believe that? We all were sent here to earth with our own packages and trails. God gave us ta...

Blessings brighten when you count them πŸ˜‡

I was serving at Olive Garden last night and what started out slow became more and more of a busy night. I had just gotten double sat. That means you get two tables at once..  πŸ˜’ it was kind of hectic for a few minutes, but both tables were so patient and kind. My one table was a group of 3 sisters and their mom. They were celebrating a birthday.  Dinner went as usual and I checked up on them every little bit. They had just finished their birthday dessert and I had just finished up my other tables and was about ready to go home for the night. I stopped and talked a bit more with them and we got on the topic of the gospel. Now I LOVE this gospel and I love being able to share it and talking about it with others brings me joy!  The neatest thing happened, as I was telling them about my life and what I was doing, the spirit was so strong and testified to me that I was in the right place in life doing the right things. I’ve been trying extra super hard to have the s...

Life is hard

Life is hard A phrase that I’ve heard so many times. Oh you’re having a rough time? Well life is hard. Oh you thought this life was going to be a breeze? Well life is hard. That is what we are told. Life is HARD. While that is true, life is also WORTH IT. Satan’s plan and idea of how life would be like if we followed him was that life would be easy, but it wouldn’t be worth it. Our Savior’s? The opposite. Life would be hard, but it would be worth it. Every trial, every hardship, everything that didn’t work out the way we thought would work out our way, would eventually come together for our gain and for our good. Family get togethers around the holidays are always fun. They are a time where you and your family, the nieces and nephews get together with your brother and sister in laws. You eat, talk, play with the kids, and have a good time. They are also a time when I am reminded of my “single” status. Just me, by my lonesome, a party of one.  πŸ™„ It comes and goes in wave...

It’s YOUR life. 😁

It’s YOUR life: 😁 As of late I have been thinking about my life. I’m loving it! I get to teach seminary in Garland in the fall and open that new chapter in my book. Living with my parents and my brother has been wonderful. I’ve often thought of how hard it is to grow up, because those around you grow up to. For me, it’s been hard. My siblings and I are going different directions, some married, some with kids, but I am really grateful for the time I have to be at home again. I get to strengthen my relationship my parents, my brother, etc. because I have the chance to do it. There is a reason I am home. I was a bit melancholy yesterday and just told my parents and my brother Josh how grateful I am that we are in the situation we are in, so that we have each other! Don’t forget to thank those around you in your life. I’m sure they’ve made a huge difference in yours. Remember friends, It’s YOUR life, not your neighbors, your friends, your co workers, your parents, your grandma’s,...

The parable of the ten virgins:

Image
The parable of the ten virgins: I’ve been thinking a lot about this parable lately. It is one of my favorites and there was a picture of the 10 virgins that hung in my parents bathroom growing up. I remember pointing out the 5 wise and 5 foolish. The more I got thinking about this parable, and what it means to me was that, yes Heavenly Father wants us to help and serve one another. He wants us to love our neighbor as ourself. At the same time He gives us agency. Agency to choose and listen to Him and follow the commandments He has given us. He wants us to serve and help others and make good choices. Each time we do that, we add another drop of oil into our lamps. We are able to keep trying each day to fill our lamps. When the ten virgins were all together, the 5 wise filled their lamps and made sure they were prepared. The 5 foolish took no heed to that. When the time came that the bridegroom was near, the 5 foolish panicked. They had no oil. They asked the 5 wise and they said that...

Keeping the commandments of God really does bring joy.

As my mind has thought about things lately, I’ve been trying to understand more why our loving Heavenly Father gives us commandments. We are taught that in Mosiah 2:41 “And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the BLESSED and HAPPY state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness....” The opportunity God has given me to be a seminary student teacher has blown my mind. I have learned so much already. Being in this position has made me want to try even harder to keep God’s commandments. #1 so that I can be worthy to teach with the spirit. And #2 so I can be an instrument in the Lord’s hands. Doing this, I’ve noticed that I’ve just been happier. Happier with where my life is, happier with what is happening and what isn’t happening in my life. I’m so gra...

Waiting upon the Lord doesn’t mean to just sit and wait around.

I got to thinking the last couple of days that yes my Heavenly Father loves me so much, and He has a plan for me, but! He wants me to make decisions, use my agency, trust Him, and not be idle. He wants me to make the most of what I have been given and make the most of my life. In Isaiah 40:31, it says “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.”  The word wait, in Hebrew means to hope for or anticipate. It doesn’t mean, wait around and do nothing. I have been guilty of waiting around and doing nothing. Waiting for the Lord to bless me with what I desire most. I put things off that I would like to do. I put off making decisions because I thought my life would go a different direction. Anyone ever think that once you’ve graduated or get married or whatever the case is that your life will begin? Then you’ll be happy? As I was driving home from Prov...
