Goodbye 2020, hello 2021 πŸŽ‰

Image
New post:  πŸ‘‡πŸ»πŸ˜ Maybe because it’s the end of the year, but I started reflecting on this last year. 2020, what a doozy  πŸ˜‚  I’ve been through so much, struggled more than I ever have, and learned a few lessons on the way. Haven’t we all?  πŸ‘πŸ» I’ve never been so grateful for the start of a new year before! I’ve always taken it for granted and have never given it much thought. I can always look back on my year and reminisce about what I’ve been through, what I’ve accomplished, and how I’ve become better.. but looking back at 2020.. it’s been a blur. My vision has been out of focus a lot this year. Sometimes I’ve adjusted it, other times, not so much. I have felt like the blind leading the blind. I can’t say that I’ve become better or stronger this year. But I’ve realized that that’s OK! The beautiful thing about this life is that every day we have the chance to try harder and do better. So that’s what I’m going to do as I step into 2021. Simply TRY each day. ...

My unexpected journey!

Image
Wow. Today I am 28 years old! πŸ₯³πŸ˜‚ I kind of feel like Bilbo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings when he says at his birthday party, “today is my 111th birthday!” Haha just kidding, not that old. 😜 In the “hobbit” there is a scene where you see Bilbo, sitting down and writing in his journal, about his unexpected journey that he has had throughout his life. He writes about the adventures he has been on, (which he calls  “Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things [adventures]!”- anyone feel like that sometimes? πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️πŸ˜‚) the friends he has made, and the trials and adversity he has faced along the way. All because of the choice he made to leave his quiet, safe, and comfortable life in the shire behind to go out, on an adventure! As I reflect and type this, I feel like that too! That this is my unexpected journey thus far 😁 Where has the time gone? I had a plan for my life. I was going to graduate high school, find my spouse at college, and be a mom. Forget about graduating college… that...

Do something for YOU today!

New post!! πŸ’•❄️ There are so many moments of life that are wasted on trying to be someone else. Wanting someone else’s life, their job, their body, having a bf/gf as opposed to be single, wanting their looks, their hair, their WHATEVER.. and the list keeps going on! πŸ™„ Why aren’t we ever happy with just us? With who we are? With how our life is going? With the job we have? With our body types? With our personality? Etc. Why do we get so stuck in this trap? The trap of wanting to be someone else, instead of ourselves? This topic has been something that is always on my mind. And I feel myself always getting caught in that trap. Anyone else? But this morning I woke up with a different perspective! Just love the life you are living! No matter what you have or don’t have! Everything will be ok! Everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. Just breathe. 😌 You’re AMAZING, special, unique, and the ONLY one of you on this whole earth! Love yourself πŸ’• Love others. Be kind. Do someth...

Gratitude is always a good kind of attitude to have: ☀️😭♥️ 🍁

With all the craziness surrounding all of us right now, and with it being the month for gratitude, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all the AMAZING people I have been able to meet thus far in my life.  ♥️  You have truly changed my life and blessed my life in so many ways. This week has been a struggle!! I’ve felt really discouraged and there have been times when the thought comes that I should just throw in the towel because I’m not learning what I want to learn as fast or quickly as I want to with dental assisting.  😣 The adversary knows how to get you when you’re down and if you let him continue to tell you this or that, you’ll eventually start to believe it. Or you’ll end up down that thought process of despair. I’ve never struggled at a job so much.. it’s totally out of my comfort zone (and my comfort zone is big.. haha) It’s different, it’s new, it’s challenging in ways I never thought could be challenging, it’s hard, and it’s like a fire hydrant of infor...

Life update: Change brings growth! πŸ’ͺ🏻♥️

Image
CS Lewis said: “There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” ♥️ Change, like many things in life, is unpredictable. Change is hard. Change is constant. Change is one of those things in life, where we can count on it always happening. Whether it’s a growing opportunity, doing something that seems scary, stepping out of our comfort zone, and feeling tons of discomfort, or being fearful of what is to come. All of these emotions and feelings are what is expected with CHANGE.  But, WHY do we dislike it so much?  Change can definitely be scary. 😱It can be disappointing. πŸ˜”And at times, it’s not what we want.. well, at least what we think we want.  For me, I try to look at the changes in my life, as opportunities for growth. Asking myself (and Heavenly Father) what I need to learn, and what I need to do to become better. We’re not put on this earth to remain the same. We’re here to change and to adapt and become the new and improved version of ourselves over and...

In times of brokenness, you will find God’s strength and power πŸ’ͺ🏻♥️

I debated on posting all my thoughts and feelings about not getting hired as a seminary teacher. But, I just felt that I needed to! I hope my experience can benefit someone.  πŸ™πŸ»  That is the whole reason why I write and share my life experiences with all of you! That someone out there can profit from my testimony, my struggles, and my experiences in life that have gotten me to where I am today.  ♥️   To be honest friends, NOT getting hired for Seminary was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through. I know this was a while ago and some may think “move on already.” “Let it go!” And to you I say, I am trying. It’s something I think about every day. I’ve lost a couple people close to me, and my experience was like losing a loved one.. πŸ˜” Except, I honestly felt like I was the one that had died. πŸ’”πŸ˜ž I was grieving, I was sad, I was a little jealous, and at times, I was upset and angry.  Why did this happen? What do I do now Heavenly Father? I think in our c...

My week in Missouri!

Image
My week in Missouri is coming to a close tomorrow. Time has absolutely flown! ✈️ It’s bittersweet leaving Anna & Rylan. I am so grateful for them! πŸ˜‡ They’re amazing! I have loved my time here, the friends I’ve made, and the places I’ve seen. It’s a beautiful state! 🌳 I have learned so much about myself this last week and wanted to share with all of you what I have learned. πŸ’•  4 things I know! πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ₯° * God is our Father, we are HIS children and He loves each of us so so much ♥️ He does have a perfect plan for each of us. With specific things we each need to learn. * Trials and adversity are HARD. 😣 and downright suck sometimes. But these struggles we have, are meant to turn us into better people. You can either let it break you or you can let the experiences change you for the better. Your choice! We are meant to have JOY! But that doesn’t come without enduring to the end end learning from those hard things in the meantime. (We can do it!)  * Prayer is REAL. I know God ...
