Authenticity and being yourself 🤩

Something that has been on my mind a lot lately, has been the topic of authenticity and being true to oneself. What authenticity means to me is that you are true to yourself; to your values, your personality, your character, and your spirit. To me it means that there is only ONE YOU, so you better just be who you truly are, not wasting your precious time being someone else. 

Why would we want to be anyone else? We’re us! You’re YOU! But just like all of us, we doubt ourselves at times. We put the key to our worth in someone else’s pocket. 😔Sometimes we might not like ourselves. Sometimes we might feel we aren’t pretty/handsome enough, successful enough, and downright good enough.

We may feel that our life isn’t as glamorous as those we know.. though we sometimes wish it could be. We fall into the comparison trap and we get stuck. I’ve definitely been there, and even though I am trying my best to just be my authentic and genuine self, sometimes I am not perfect at it. But I’m TRYING. I’m loving and accepting myself, my body, my life, my successes, my so called imperfections, and my failures. All those things are a part of what makes me ME! Because at the end of the day, I am the one that I am going to spend the rest of my life with. We have to take care of ourselves and nourish the gems that are inside of us! 💎 

If those around you don’t help you embrace your true self or don’t love you for who you are, then they have no business being in your life. Surround yourself with those who boost you up, not bog you down. You deserve to be seen, heard, and loved for who you are, no matter what! 🤍 And ALWAYS remember that God loves you! 

I have a quote that hangs in my room and it’s always stuck with me. It says “be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” (Oscar Wilde) 

There’s so many gifts and talents that only you have been blessed with! Don’t hide those and wish your life away trying to be someone else. You’re you, and that right there, is worth celebrating! 🤩🤍🫶
