YOU are worthy!

Years ago, when I was working at Deseret Book in the distribution part of the store, each day I had the opportunity to help those that were preparing to go through the temple and receive their endowment. 😌


I loved working at this job! I got to meet all sorts of people from all walks of life and talk about something I love: the gospel of Jesus Christ and the temple. 


One particular afternoon, I had had a wonderful sacred experience with a mom and daughter that had came in to the store. I was helping them get their ceremonial clothing, and as we were talking I bore my testimony of how wonderful the temple is! (It’s not every day that you get to bear your testimony at your job.) 🤗 The spirit was so strong and we all walked away feeling so uplifted. 🙏🏻


Afterwards I walked out, said goodbye to my new friends, and went and talked to my coworker. This coworker is amazing and I am grateful the Lord put her in my life for a short time. She was no stranger to hard things and she has a big heart and a beautiful testimony! I always felt better when I talk to her.


I told her that I didn’t feel worthy to have that wonderful experience. 😞 We got talking and she said “Lyssa, if you weren’t worthy, you wouldn’t be having those experiences.” What she said all those years ago, has stuck with me and she was right! 


Often times, we are the ones that are super hard on ourselves. (Satan also has a way of doing this.) We are our worst critic & we always see our faults and the things we need to work on.


Sometimes it takes someone else to open your eyes. To make you realize that you are doing a good job. 👏🏻 That you’re doing your best and God sees that. ♥️


President Gordon B. Hinckley said: “Please don’t nag yourselves with thoughts of failure..... simply do what you can do, in the best way you know how, and the Lord will accept your effort.” 👊🏻


So my friends, this is me telling YOU that you are doing a great job! That your sacrifices are being seen, that YOU are worthy, and that the Lord sees and hears you. I testify of His plan for YOU and how much YOU matter to Him! ♥️


In a world where we need more kindness than ever, start with being kind to yourself first. ♥️🥰🙏🏻

God is love ❤️

 I recently attended the funeral services of Cason’s uncle that unexpectedly passed away. Even though I didn’t know him super well, he was such a kind man! Tears fell as the talks, memories, and testimonies of his family, grandchildren, and friends were shared. I walked away feeling so uplifted ❤️🙏🏻 it was such a spiritual funeral. I think that’s the point, when loved ones pass, is to get you to reflect on your own life and the people around you. I felt so much love that day-So much care and concern that God is aware, He is in control, and He knows what we are all going through! I know God has a plan for each of His beloved children. I know He loves each and every single one of YOU! Yes, YOU. I know that not a tear falls that He doesn’t know about or of a hurtful thought that was said to you. He celebrates the good times and is there for us in the bitter times. He finds joy in the things that make us laugh and in the people we help along the way. He truly is our biggest fan and cheer

LIVE ☀️

  New post: I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting recently and realized that it’s been a while since I’ve felt inspired to write a new post.  Hardships and loss, like most thought provoking experiences we are all going to get to go through, bring lots of reflection. Loss of a loved one, compassion for those experiencing the loss, and the sorrow and grief that come along, that you don’t quite understand and realize, until you go through it yourself.  Death and change, ironically, make you think and reflect on your own life. The impact you make, the example you set, the kindness you show, the love you give freely, and the acts of service you show to others.  It (hopefully) makes you want you try harder. To be a little better. To love more. To give more. To serve more. To LIVE more. To not let the opportunities pass you by. To spend more time with the ones you love.
